© Reuters India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.19%
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the added 0.19% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the were Infosys Ltd (NS:), which rose 3.67% or 52.25 points to trade at 1,475.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:) added 1.58% or 54.60 points to end at 3,515.00 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) was up 1.17% or 13.45 points to 1,167.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LTIMindtree Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.60% or 133.70 points to trade at 5,001.15 at the close. LTIMindtree Ltd (BO:) declined 2.58% or 132.30 points to end at 5,001.65 and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) was down 1.59% or 10.60 points to 656.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Infosys Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.67% to 1,475.00, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.51% to settle at 3,512.75 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.18% to close at 1,167.30.
The worst performers were State Bank Of India (BO:) which was down 1.45% to 592.20 in late trade, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.28% to settle at 2,995.15 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.18% to 7,419.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1224 to 713 and 58 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1955 fell and 1350 advanced, while 120 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.49% to 11.71.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.56% or 11.00 to $1,967.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.50% or 0.37 to hit $74.45 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.31 to trade at $78.81 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.04% to 82.03, while EUR/INR rose 0.13% to 92.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 99.36.
