Unum Group’s Chief Operating Officer Michael Simonds will resign effective Feb. 9 to pursue another professional opportunity.
The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based workplace benefits provider said in a regulatory filing on Thursday that it expects his responsibilities will initially be taken by other officers.
Simonds will be available to provide transition support after he leaves the company, Unum said. He became chief operating officer of Unum Group in 2020 and first joined the company in 1994.
